The No. 2 ranked Grand Rapids Community College volleyball team defeated LMC 3-0 (25-8, 25-6, 25-15) in Benton Harbor on Thursday.
The win pushes GRCC’s win streak to seven matches and a 13-2 record overall.
LMC took a 7-6 lead in the third set, its only lead of the match. GRCC responded with a 19-8 run to finish the set and the match.
“We wanted to come in and find ways (in) each set to get better,” GRCC Coach Chip Will said. “In the third set we let some kids play six rotations that normally do not get to play all the way around.”
Maddie Stankus led GRCC with eight kills. Michelle Holland totaled eight assists, while Micaela Deshetsky and Jenna Karel each had six kills.
GRCC will host Lakewood Community College, Alpena Community College, Schoolcraft College and Oakland Community College for the Raider Challenge Saturday and Sunday at Ford Fieldhouse.
