Today the Grand Rapids Community College Campus Activities Board held its annual Cupid’s Workshop.
The workshop attracted more than 50 students who lined up to make stuffed animals. There were several other tables, sponsored by campus organizations, filled with activities.
“The importance of this event is to just bring everyone together, and usually I know Valentine’s Day is for people who are in relationships,” said CAB President Brianna Castillo. “It is also a cheap way students can get gifts for each other or for themselves without having to waste so much money.”
There were several informational tables such as, GRCC’S Title IX and the Library and Learning Commons. GRCC’s Title IX attended the event to inform students about Title IX and let students cut out paper t-shirts with a supportive message in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The GRCC Library also attended the event to assist students with signing up for the New York Times subscription.
The Hispanic Student Organization also held a Valentine’s flower sale where students could purchase roses and Dippin’ Dots.
“We are selling roses and Dippin’ Dots to raise funds for our organization for whatever activities we would like to (do),” said Marissa Diaz, Head of Communication for the HSO.
