In case you haven’t heard, Grand Rapids Comic-Con fans will have to wait until late summer to get their comic book fix.

The show has been rescheduled twice due to COVID-19. Show organizers had planned a “Spring Fling” for April, but it’s a no-go due to the virus.

“The Grand Rapids Comic-Con will be delaying the April 9-11 ’Spring Fling’ show at the DeltaPlex Arena,” the release stated. “This is due to the usual suspect and the fact that the vaccine distribution has been a bit slower than anticipated.”

This news spells nerdy heartbreak for Con fans.

However, hope is not dead, as according to the release the “Spring Fling” isn’t canceled, simply rescheduled for August 13-15 and shall now be known as “Summer Bash.”

The summer event will feature comic books and collectibles, original art and celebrity appearances.

Mark Hodges, the show promoter, could not be reached for comment.
